Rewilding Your Backyard

Rooted in Resilience: Rewilding Your High Desert Landscape | May 27 - 5:00 pm

Service Description

Transform your backyard into a thriving habitat that celebrates the unique beauty of the Nevada landscape. Join the Green Goddess Collective for an immersive workshop led by Jaime Sammons, a local expert dedicated to sustainable horticulture and land stewardship. In this class, you’ll move beyond traditional landscaping to create a garden that works with nature, rather than against it. Jaime Sammons has long been champion of the Fallon agricultural community. As the instructor for the Churchill County High School Plant Systems program and owner of Two Ravens Farm, Jaime brings years of hands-on experience in high-desert horticulture and rare crop cultivation. Her deep connection to the local land and passion for education make her the perfect guide for your rewilding journey. Jaime will be joined by Bethany Chagnon, lifelong biologist and Deputy Refuge Manager for the Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge. Bethany manages thousands of acres of crucial habitat in our valley and will talk about strategies to turn even a small backyard space into a vital link in the wildlife corridor. Creating a sanctuary for local wildlife doesn't mean letting your garden go "untidy" or neglected. It’s about intentional design that saves you time and money on upkeep while you create a healthier habitat right in your own backyard. You will leave with actionable steps to turn even a small space into a biodiverse oasis.
